ASTEA – September 2021
We had a chat with Matteo Lorenzetti (ASTEA) to learn more about the progress of the installation activities at Osimo demosite and the upcoming demonstration campaign.
What have been the updates in Osimo demosite in the past 6 months? What do you think are the most important results achieved so far?
All the main installation activities are completed. The remaining flexibility asset to be installed is the DC charging station. This equipment will be coupled with the electric vehicle in order to test the V2B/V2G mode.
The overall COVID-19 situation, has caused some delays for the above-mentioned activities, as well as the thermal energy storage (TES) installation. By the way, the most important results achieved so far are essentially: Osimo MUSE Grids Smart Controller definition and implementation, the virtual modelling of the different technologies involved in Osimo demosite and finally the simulation of the demand side management strategies among the energy assets.
What were the main challenges and how did you overcome them?
Finalizing the installation activities, especially by managing the delays caused by the pandemic situation; closing of the test and commissioning phase; proceeding with demo campaign and data collection analysis via key performance indicators defined in WP1.
What should we expect in the upcoming months as the demonstration campaign will start?
Once the demo campaign will start, It will be possible to analyse the real interaction among the different technologies implemented as well as evaluate the effectiveness of the different DSM strategies previously tested in a virtual environment.
